Full-arch restoration replaces every tooth in an arch using implants placed in the jawbone as the foundation, instead of resting a plate on the gums. It is the treatment for an arch that is already gone or failing across the board — advanced decay, advanced periodontal disease, or a denture that no longer works.

Whichever route is chosen, the sequence is broadly the same: 3D imaging and planning, any extractions, implant placement under local anesthetic with sedation available, three to six months of healing while the implants fuse to the bone, then the definitive prosthesis. Groundwork such as bone grafting or a sinus lift is added where the ridge is short.

Rather than patching individual failing teeth, this case treated the arch as one unit: the unsalvageable teeth were removed, implants were placed into healthy bone, and a fixed restoration was designed for even contact, natural tooth proportion, and a shade that suits the patient's face. The result is a stable bite and a smile that no longer needs to be hidden.
When most teeth in an arch are failing, replacing them one at a time is slower and more expensive than treating the arch as a whole. Here the remaining teeth were removed and a fixed, implant-anchored arch was placed, restoring both appearance and full chewing function with teeth that stay in the mouth rather than coming out at night.
With only a couple of teeth left, chewing was limited and the smile had collapsed. Implants were placed in both arches and fixed restorations were secured onto them, giving back a complete set of teeth that function and feel like natural dentition rather than a removable plate.
Advanced periodontal disease had left the remaining teeth mobile and the gum tissue inflamed. After removing the compromised teeth and allowing the tissue to heal, implants were placed and fixed arches delivered — eliminating the source of chronic infection while restoring a full, healthy-looking smile.

The first decision most patients face is whether to anchor the arch to the bone at all.
A prosthesis supported by implants in the jawbone — fixed in the All-on-4 and All-on-6 routes, securely clipped in the overdenture route.
Removable full dentures rest on the gum ridge and are held by suction or adhesive rather than by implants.
Deciding
If yes, the answer is a fixed arch — All-on-4 or All-on-6. If daily removal is acceptable, an implant-supported denture costs less and needs fewer implants.
All-on-4Generous bone at all six sites opens up All-on-6. Moderate bone, especially at the back of the upper jaw, usually points to All-on-4's angled implants.
All-on-6Heavy forces favour six implants and a zirconia prosthesis, which spread and withstand load better than a four-implant acrylic hybrid.
All-on-6Lower dentures are the least stable of all. Two implants and an overdenture often solve it without the cost of a fixed arch.
